PRP, STEM CELLS, PROLOTHERAPY AND PROLOZONE

What is platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy?

PRP therapy uses plasma with high concentration of platelets extracted from your own blood to stimulate the healing or growth process. Your doctor takes your blood and spins it in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the other blood cells. The platelets are typically concentrated 5-8 times or over 1,000,000/ml. The platelets contain a high concentration of growth factors that can increase the body’s own stem cells and tell the body to heal.

The doctor will inject or applies the PRP to the treatment area. PRP injections help reduce pain and speed healing for conditions like muscle sprains, arthritis or joint pain. PRP may also help you recover more quickly after surgery. PRP can be used in any part of the body to help the healing process.

What are PRP treatments used for?

The specialists at Anti-Aging & Wellness Center use PRP for several medical and aesthetic purposes, including pain relief, hair growth, and facial and sexual rejuvenation.

Pain relief

Dr. Shivinder Deol uses PRP for chronic musculoskeletal conditions, such as Achilles tendonitis, tennis elbow, hip or knee arthritis, shoulder bursitis, heel spur and jumper’s knee. PRP can help with chronic neck pain and backache. The therapy is particularly promising at reducing pain and improving healing naturally for any chronic injuries.

Hair growth

PRP injections are a safe, effective nonsurgical treatment for hair loss. The injections provide hair follicles with the nutrients they need on to stimulate growth. Multiple injections are needed for optimal benefits.Women appear to have slightly better results than men who often have greater conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which damages the hair follicles in typical male type baldness.

Facial rejuvenation

If you want more youthful looking skin, you can consider PRP facial therapy or even , PRP stimulates collagen production, which improves skin texture, color, and volume. There is no foreign substance, just your own body stimulating the skin and underlying tissues.

Sexual rejuvenation

Dr. Deol has obtained special training to help men and women with sexual dysfunction with PRP, which can strengthen, repair and regenerate the tissues, resulting in greater feelings and enjoyment.

Urinary incontinence

For women, PRP injections can help leaking bladder due to weakness in vaginal walls or atrophic vaginitis.

What is prolotherapy and prolozone?

In addition to PRP therapy, the doctors at the Center uses prolotherapy and prolozone for pain relief, arthritis and ligament regrowth.

Prolotherapy

Prolotherapy involves injecting an injured joint with several vitamins, lidocaine and natural irritants like dextrose or sugar to stimulate healing in any injured area. Dr. Deol uses prolotherapy and PRP therapy together to jumpstart the healing process for severe chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

Prolozone for pain relief

Prolozone is a stronger form of prolotherapy to repair ligaments, tendons and joints by injecting of oxygen/ozone, procaine, and collagen-boosting nutrients. The injection jumpstarts the tissue regeneration process and reduces inflammation, pain, and swelling.

Prolozone can provide permanent relief for musculoskeletal pain related to:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Hip, knee, and ankle pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders
  • Tennis elbow

Prolozone for infections

The ozone injections can be used in wounds, abscesses, inflamed tissue, even chronic prostatitis to clear the infections and start the healing process.

If you have pain in your muscles or joints, you may be a good candidate for PRP, prolotherapy, or prolozone treatments. Contact Anti-Aging & Wellness Center online or over the phone to learn more.

What is PRP for hair loss?

PRP for hair loss is hair follicle rejuvenation with platelet rich plasma, or PRP. The platelets, which are the healing cells in blood, promote regeneration of any area of the body they are injected into. The procedure involves drawing your own blood, then isolating the platelets and plasma components of the blood. This mix is then injected into your scalp in multiple locations with a very small and thin needle.

Who is PRP for hair loss good for?

If you are losing your hair for any reason, PRP for hair loss can help to bring it back. It is especially good for male pattern baldness. The sooner you begin treatments after noticing hair loss, the more likely the follicles can be rejuvenated. Men and women can both benefit by PRP for hair loss. It is also important to treat the underlying cause, such as hormone imbalance, thyroid conditions, or the long term effects of stress on the body.

How long does PRP for hair loss last?

PRP for hair loss improves hair growth for 4-6 weeks. It’s best to repeat the treatment once a month for 3 months. After that, the treatment can be renewed every 4-6 months for continued results.

What are the side effects of PRP for hair loss?

Bruising, pain, and swelling may occur. These are temporary side effects that last up to one week. Because the procedure uses your own blood, there is no risk for immune rejection or other serious complications.
